No, it's-- [Jason takes a moment to swallow down his emotions as they continue to gather. His lips quaver as he nods.]
Black. I like black. [He doesn't want the Robin colors anywhere near his body. Not anymore.]
I really like it. [Jason fails to keep his emotions intact as a few tears escape down his cheeks as he nods.] I want it. I want it so bad. You have no idea.
[He rests his hand on the chest plate again as he quietly cries. This is freedom, this is a way to reclaim what he's lost. And for Bruce to just give it to him? There is nothing he could ever do to repay him for this.]
( He's quiet as he watches the way Jason reaches for the chest piece β as his emotions get the better of him and he practically cries right then and there over how much he wants this piece. It's not even finished β not polished to a final product he can proudly wear and yet, here he is, ready to take it with him already. It gets Bruce to stare down in contemplation β gets him to mull over a few things β and then he's gently placing a hand on the other's shoulder. Supportive, again. )
I'm still working on it. ( As he's said, but. ) Trying to have it finished before the next mission starts.
( Just in case. Not wanting Jason to be left vulnerable should the mission involve more physical and violent aspects to it. )
[Jason looks over as Bruce puts a hand on his shoulder but immediately looks away to try and hide his tears.]
This is-- Bruce this is everything.
[He supposes Bruce has already gotten that impression from him, but he needs to say it out loud. It's like two years ago when his Bruce first offered the Robin suit to him. His entire life changed overnight and this is no different.]
[If there was a way to overwhelm Jason even more, it's the offer to put it on. Jason blows out a breath and nods. He shucks his hoodie in no time flat and then reaches over for the plate. He can hardly believe he's doing this right now and as he pulls it over his head, it fits perfectly. He looks over to Bruce and nods.]
Oh hell yeah.
[The black is sleek in a way that the Robin's colors never were. It immediately ties him to Bruce and signals to anyone that he's back in the sidekick game.]
( He eyes Jason as he slips into it β sweeps his gaze over how it fits and if there's anything he's missing in the design of it. While it's similar to his own style, it's not an exact copy. One, because he lacks the experimental materials here that he has back in Gotham and two, because Jason needs something that's his own, not a shadow of Batman. )
( Yes, well. He uses his cape to escape through the air sometimes, thanks. But again, he's not offended. It's not as if Dick wears one with his Nightwing gear after all.
A nod at Jason's approval of how it fits, he gestures for him to remove it. Again, it's not finished and he's still adding a few final touches to it. )
I don't currently have the sort of tech available that would have me make lenses if that's what you're looking for. But I can do something similar with goggles. Have it just be that or embed them into a cowl of some sort.
( Goggles will just have to do until he can find something else to work with. It's why he frequently visits the junkyard to see what he can find there. Which, on that train of thought... )
There's something else.
( At that, he slowly makes his way over to where the Batmobile is and, off to the side, is a motorcycle that's... clearly a bit of a work in progress, but. Coming together. Slowly. )
[Jason thought he couldn't possibly be more overwhelmed, but no here it is again. However, Jason does bite back his emotions more successfully than before.]
This might take a little longer. The junkyard doesn't always have the things I need.
( It's hit or miss and there's others who go through it as well. It's really more of a first come first serve sort of deal there and not everyone is so willing to share. However, he makes do with what he can find and Bruce has always had a knack for fixing up cars and bikes. His Batmobile he'd built from the ground up after all, especially the engine. )
( This isn't Gotham. There's little need to patrol which... is frustrating at times. Especially when he needs to direct his anger somewhere and there's none of Penguin's crew to throw around. So, instead, he's down here. Working on things. When he's not slipping away into the darkness of his room and spiraling into a depression, but. No one needs to know that. )
( Well. He's glad Jason likes and approves of what he's done so far. It's not his best work, but. Once again, going off what he has here and still taking all the necessary precautions and time needed when it comes to putting together and creating these types of things. )
There's bots that specialize in medical attention at the hospital. You should probably get them to look at it to be sure there's no long-term damage beneath the surface. They'll also provide you with painkillers, I imagine. If they're needed.
( That's what he figures anyways, since doctors and nurses aren't exactly a thing around here. Although it's not as though he's ever gone to either back in Gotham when getting into it as Batman, so. )
( A tilt of his head, he drops his hand away from Jason's face. )
If I have general anesthesia, I could push it back into place bit by bit.
( He's not Thomas Wayne by any means, but. He has an extensive knowledge of broken bones and the like. Partly because of his own academic studies, partly because of Alfred, and partly through his own extensive research and knowledge. )

You should see if it fits.
( A shrug, he steps aside a little. )
The plates in the chest have been riveted together, similar to mine. But it shouldn't be an issue for movement.
no subject
Oh hell yeah.
[The black is sleek in a way that the Robin's colors never were. It immediately ties him to Bruce and signals to anyone that he's back in the sidekick game.]

Do you want a cape or no?
( He hadn't been sure about that part. )
no subject
No, a cape just gets in the way.
[And it will further demonstrate that he's not Robin any more. He pats the chest piece and grins up at Bruce.]
It feels good. It feels real fucking good.

I wore a domino mask as Robin. I think everyone in the belfry but Bruce does. Goggles would be great.
[It's not quite as smooth as a domino mask, but goggles are certainly a step further in the direction of being properly suited up.]

( At that, he slowly makes his way over to where the Batmobile is and, off to the side, is a motorcycle that's... clearly a bit of a work in progress, but. Coming together. Slowly. )
You said you know how to ride, didn't you?
no subject
Are you serious?
[He gets a glimpse of the work in progress bike.]
Oh fuck yeah. I know how to ride.

no subject
Why are you doing all of this?
[It still feels a bit like some kind of trap, like something Bruce will pull away at the last moment.]
no subject
( He looks to him then. )
Do you not want to anymore?
no subject
I really do. Trust me. [Jason searches for the right words.] I'm not really used to it, I guess.
[A deep breath.] I mean, I got kicked out of the Titans, broken up with by a fucking mole, and then fired, like all in a week.
I guess I just wasn't expecting all this.
no subject

I just want you prepared.
no subject
[Jason bites his lip a moment before nodding.]
You ever want any help. I mean, I'll probably be here more often. So just shout, I guess.
[And someone has to clean up.]
no subject
If you need anything, I'll do what I can.

Barbara said there were medical bots? And that I should get a splint for my nose? Do you know anything about that?
no subject
( That's what he figures anyways, since doctors and nurses aren't exactly a thing around here. Although it's not as though he's ever gone to either back in Gotham when getting into it as Batman, so. )
I have a med-kit here as well.
no subject
[He pulls the ice pack off his face to show Bruce.]
How's it look?
no subject
It's broken.
( A little obvious it is for someone who's dealt with fractures and the like. )
Do you have difficulty breathing?
