( a slow glance over to where damian points, he stares. looks back to damian. then slowly turns to make his way back towards inside. hands in pockets still. )

I have a few things to drink and I'll be sure to string up some garlic.

( that last part is said a little dryly, yeah. )

He's been there since the buildings appeared. I haven't discerned his intentions yet.

( but damian is pulling himself up to his feet, and moving to let himself into the tower. )

I'm sure you'll figure it out.

( making sure to leave the door open for damian, he heads back down inside the tower for the penthouse. intending to get damian something to drink since he's thirsty and all. )

I haven't seen him over there in. . . some time. But I know he is still here. Somewhere.

( he'll find you, rooftop vampire. despite saying he's wounded, damian walks as steadily as he always had as he follows a few steps behind bruce. )

You sound a little fixated.

( heading for the kitchen once they're in the penthouse, he grabs a couple bottles out of the fridge. water, soda, apple juice. he doesn't stock these for himself. he keeps them in case damian stops by— well. the water is his, sure. but, he sets them out on the counter, letting damian take his pick of what he wants. )

( he doesn't drink soda frequently, but he does reach for the apple juice. unscrews the lid and like the little gremlin he is - drinks straight from the container. )

We'd been conversing for quite some time. ( just without words. sometimes damian throws a batarang towards him, and the 'vampire' tosses it back harmlessly. it's kept him busy, and the lack of his presence is a little off-putting. )

( muttered more to himself than to damian as he slowly opens the water for himself and takes a long sip from it, gently leaning there against the counter as he does. )

Are you letting Dick know about this Reverse-Flash business?

( the domino mask gets slowly peeled off his face and set down on the counter beside the bottle of apple juice. while he - considers how he wants to answer that. )

I told Oracle. The information will be dispensed.

Are you mad at him about something?

( his mouth twists into a scowl, one that most would expect to find on bruce's face, not damian's. )

Oracle has the network. There's no need for both of us to tell everyone.

( another slow sip of his water, he licks over his lips. caps his bottle. )

Then I'm sure he can handle this Reverse Flash business. Since he likely has already.

( why is his father like this. )

Allen is Father's Flash. Grayson has his own who comes with a multitude of his own problems.

( because we're calling dibs on certain flashes now. )

Well I don’t have a Flash.

( not yet. he might never. he doesn’t know. )

Besides, you’ve all dealt with speedsters before. I’m sure you already all have an idea on how to handle it.

( damian - agrees easily enough. )

We'll leave Allen to his own devices. He can figure it out. And if Thawne dons Allen's skin and begins massacring everyone - that's his fault.

Call Superman or your arrogant friend on the farm. I’m sure one of them could handle it just fine.

( it’s said dryly as he puts the water back in the fridge. )

( he's busy enough handling bruce. )

They’re not mine either.

( that being said, he pulls a can of fruit salad down from the cupboard and grabs a can opener to start opening that up. bruce and cooking is absolutely not a thing and is in everyone’s best interest that it’s not. )

You're Batman. ( canned fruit salad is terrifying, but they are both figuring out life without alfred, so damian won't voice any complaints. yet. ) You make everyone else's problems your own, because you want to make the world less dark.

( and will be until the day he dies he feels.

with the lid popped off, he grabs a bowl and spoon. sets them down. then pours the fruit salad into that bowl. syrup and all. he takes a moment to stare at it, wondering if this is good enough, but. given what he currently has on hand, it’ll have to do, so. plunking the spoon in the salad, he holds the bowl over for damian to take.

it’s for the best alfred not see this, maybe, but. he tried? )

( looking the can over, he takes a second to read it. )

Says it's in syrup, so. I would imagine so.

( this is definitely not the sort of fruit salad alfred would serve, no. so. )

( alfred would be ashamed of them.

damian reaches for the spoon, and -- shoves fruit pieces around the bowl for a minute. )

We should check the convenience store's stock later.

Probably.

( to which he opens up the cupboard and pulls down the other cans he has there. peaches, mixed vegetables, baby corn, tuna... sets that aside since it's not for damian... alphabet pasta in tomato sauce, and vegetable soup. looking over to damian, he hums a little. )

I like instant noodles with eggs added in.

( he's - trying to help. bruce is just grabbing whatever has some nutritional value to it. he needs to eat better than that, too. )

Dumplings - they are often not terrible when frozen, even if they're not nearly as good. Kibbeh. Vegetarian, obviously. Cereal, but not the kind that is more than half of your daily value of sugar in a bag.

I guess I'll have to see what's at Kwik Trip and go from there.

( more or less, but. at least he's make an effort — remembers that damian is a vegetarian and thus, keeps those sorts of options on hand for him. )
