making his way to the batmobile, keys in hand, he waits for jason to join him so they can make their way to the hospital for this. )
[Jason doesn't take long to come down the elevator. He's wearing his usual black t-shirt, with a black hooded jacket thrown over one shoulder as he approaches Bruce. He knows the drifter get up, knows it's Bruce, and scurries to meet him. He falls into step next to Bruce with a grin.]
I'm so ready to be done with this cast.
[While it is now bearing a couple signatures, it's still a reminder of nearly dying at the hands of the other Bruce. The white scars on his face aren't nearly as bright, but this cast remains painful.]
( gently, he lifts a hand and gives jason's shoulder a couple pats as they go. he knows how long it's been β remembers still the night it had happened and the hurricane of emotions he felt in that adrenaline rush to protect him. despite it being past them now, it still gently lingers there with him. like so many scars of his past do. )
Might have to do a bit of physio just to see everything's good.
( plus the fact that he's been unable to use his arm for as long as he has. )
[Even Jason knows that it could be some intensive PT after having his arm immobilized for so long. Hopefully he didnβt lose too much strength. Heβa got shit to do.]

( slipping into the batmobile, he looks over to jason for a moment before he starts the car up, letting the engine roar as it does when waking from its slumber. )
[The trip to the hospital is quick and Jason is quick to head to the office to get his cast off. After about fifteen minutes of careful sawing, Jason is free! He raises his arm in celebration before he gets a better look at it. The scarring from the surgeries has created web-like traces all over his arm. The rods and pins are still an angry purple beneath his skin and Jason sighs.]
( it's hard to believe the cast is finally coming off, but. here they are and here's jason looking to him for a bit of guidance here. a gentle look at his arm, he hums a little to himself in thought. )
I'd probably give it another week or two. Just to be safe.
[The doctor produces a soft splint. Something to help protect the healing process while still giving Jason back as much range of motion as they can.]
No, are you serious? Another cast?
[It's not a cast, the doctor explains, but a splint to help the last few bits of healing. He can take it off to shower, and generally any time he won't be working the arm.
Jason grumbles under his breath as the splint is slid on. It's much shorter, only covering the breadth of his forearm, rather than his first or second casts.]
[Jason huffs his irritation and impatience as the doctor tightens a couple velcro straps. He raises his arm after, glaring at the splint. With that, they're sent on their way and Jason is clearly unhappy with the outcome of the appointment.]

[Nevermind the reminder they pose of the time the other Bruce nearly beat him to death. Jason climbs into the passenger side, flexing his fingers on his bad side. He seems to have some movement in his fingers, but how much will depend on PT and patience.]
( slipping into the drivers seat, the engine wakes, the guttural roar comes, and bruce gives the car a second or two before he's taking them back towards wayne tower. )
( that's... unexpected? yet not really at the same time. the unexpected comes from jason telling him, he thinks, given he'd had his own suspicions prior, but. jason had maintained they were only friends and far be it from him to pry. still, that gets a slow glance over as they go before he looks back ahead to the road. )
