Hey, I didn’t start shit! He’s the one that dropped on me and started punching!

[Jason is leaving out the part about Arkham, about the interrogation.]

( At that, he looks right at him, confused. )

Jason. I'm not blaming you for anything.

[copsormasks]

[Jason sighs and crosses his arms.]

You’re the only one.

[batsymbol]

( At that, he falls quiet, unable to speak for any of the others. )

I'm sorry.

[copsormasks]

[Jason sighs where he’s slouched into the couch.]

You don’t have to apologize for them. It’s not like you were there .

[batsymbol]

No. But it still upsets you.

( As if this wasn't obvious. but. )

[copsormasks]

Yeah? And? [He doesn’t expect Bruce to care all that much. Still.]

[batsymbol]

And so I want you to know that you always have a place here. That I want you here and around.

( He just wonders if Jason will ever really believe it. )

[Jason crosses his arms, staring at the movie for a few moments. He opens his mouth, shuts it, and then opens and shuts it again.]

Sorry.

[batsymbol]

You're ok.

( It's said gently but reassuringly. Just wanting to sit there with him and watch what he's put on for them. )

[Jason pauses, watching the movie for a few minutes.]

I think I might stay here for a while.

[batsymbol]

( He glances over. Quiet. )

Yeah?

[copsormasks]

Yeah. [Jason nods.] You seem to get it. The whole being on your own thing.

[batsymbol]

( He does, but. Being on his own like this is also Very Bad for Bruce Wayne. Never mind for Batman.)

It's what I'm used to.

( Being isolated from everyone else. )

[copsormasks]

Same.

[Jason shrugs.]

Doesn’t have to be though.

[batsymbol]

( At that, he looks over to Jason. )

No, I guess it doesn't.

[copsormasks]

[Jason grins over at Bruce.]

I know I’ve said it before, but I really hope I don’t go home.

[batsymbol]

Guess this will have to do.

( The Tower. Being like… a home. )

[copsormasks]

[Jason smiles a bit wider.]

Look, I have had some shitty homes.

[He blows out a breath.]

And this is the least shitty place I’ve been.

[batsymbol]

Might have been offended if you did. I don't think it's all that bad.

( It's his home after all. Or, well. The closest thing to it, given that this isn't Gotham and all. )

With the curtains pulled, it’s not bad at all.

[It helps with Jason’s vertigo and sense of falling. Sure, there’s not as much natural light, but it’s a sacrifice Jason is willing to make.]

( At that, he smiles a little and nods ahead to the television. )

Let’s watch this before one of us dozes off, hm?

Yeah, yeah. I gotcha.

[Jason finaly presses play and then unslouches from the couch to actually watch it. The movie is some slasher that actually ends up putting Jason to sleep near the three-quarter mark. His eyelids droop and then he’s softly snoring.]
